Global Winnipeg not working: Shaw cut fibre cable - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

Anybody, know what is going on with Global Winnipeg? Went to watch the news and for some reason they are showing the Edmonton feed and had a scroll along the bottom about it, but I didn't notice that until it was too late.

The Global Edmonton anchor has said that a Shaw fiber was accidentally cut in Calgary. Shaw is using the Global Edmonton feed for the Prairies.

Shaw Direct is showing Global Edmonton as well.

It's been in and out for Global Calgary as well. Looks like it's starting to work.

Edmonton global has replaced Vancouver global all day as well here on the Lower Mainland.

Global News Hour in Calgary ran a report about the cut cable at the beginning of the 6 p.m. news.
The problem has been patched for now, with Shaw using the analog over-the-air (antenna) signal from Global Calgary to substitute for the missing digital fiber-optic signal. Perhaps this sort of patching is happening in other Shaw-services locations as well.
And BTW, I notice Shaw channel 10 (community channel) is still out of service in Calgary.

I called Shaw and they had a message saying they were having some technical difficulties with it and were working on it.
