Reading on the internet:
http://www.wohnort.demon.co.uk/DAB/a-f.html#Canada I notice that in Vancouver only, CBC is broadcasting a station called radio 3. I am aware of CBCs vision for radio 3 which is more for youth orianted/expiremental music. I believe the vision is to ultimately incorporate the current radio 2 shows such as brave new waves and the Saturday night shows into radio 3. Can anyone with a DAB receiver in Vancouver offer up some comments about the programing on this station? According to the link above it is multiplexed into channel 5 with the other CBC stations. I am really interested in obtaining a DAB receiver, and this station may push me over the top in getting one. Specifically I notice the PCI based receiver (modular tech). Can anyone comment on how well it works in Canada? That is if it is actually available. Thanks, Tyler |

I don't think the Modular Tech PCI DAB tuner is available anymore although it remains as a vestige "featured item" on the Digital Radio Canada website. Several months ago I emailed MT about this product and I received no response. I believe MT has been bought out by another company and are no longer supporting this product. However, check out the brand new Aria Digital PC DAB Tuner. It's a USB DAB tuner (cost=100 pounds sterling) with both L Band and Band III tuners. It has a 3V DC external adapter which may require a voltage converter or replacement 120V/60Hz one for use in Canada. It's available direct from Aria Digital or from online retailers such as Nevada Radio UK.

Theoretically, a youth oriented indie music/current affairs service, much like the coreesponding website, cbcradio3.com. |
