Guys just an FYI we do not mind the debates between the consoles and the services they offer such as live vs psn, controllers, aesthetics, etc. It is when these threads become personal that the Mod's need to step in. I have been around long enough to know that these types of threads almost always degenerate into a lash between members. A simplistic view I have on these "wars" is that if you have friends playing on Live exclusively then you will find the service better and vice versa.

Totally agree with the multiplayer side of things. It has become such a driving factor that some companies (IW and Bungie for example) seem to relegate the single player to the back burner. They either lose focus on the story or cut it short. Spec ops was a great idea, but Treyarch go it right for COD5 with co-op play in story mode.

MS won 9 out of 12 months. Pretty impressive.

They're still remarkably close to each other. I suspect we'll see near parity until the bitter end with this generation. It's amazing how badly the Wii is still killing them even with the dearth of quality new titles.

Thread title is misleading; given the volume represents less than 50% of the global volume sold, this appears to be a chart of just one region and does not accurately reflect that PS3 outsold XBox in 2009 by a large margin.

Average Joe doesn't know the NPD only represents North America so yeah that should be mentioned or people could start "360 gets HAMMERED by PS3" and cite Media Create numbers from Japan:

Wii -- 1,962,367
PS3 -- 1,764,532
X360 -- 373,357
PS2 -- 206,555

Poor 360, still trying to win the hearts of the Xenophobes.

I foresee a thread about how the PS3 is the greatest system ever created, and Xbox should been taken off the shelves all together, lol
