Read post #53 which is only a few posts up, their on now in Dartmouth, Bedford & Sackville along with a bunch of others HD channels we don't get in Halifax. If you brought your DVR over to Dartmouth to your parents house your DVR should have all those HD channels that aren't available in Halifax. Strange that your DVR isn't showing them. Even though your DVR is using your Halifax account it still is on the Dartmouth system so all those channels should show up. Strange.

All the channels will be added to the $4.95 Package.

Just did a QAM scan here in Amherst, found BIG10 SD and HD, CNN HD, TCM SD and HD, some other channels were found but my TV only displayed them as blank, so I'll have more to report later.

Thanks for the info. The box won't tune to the new channels because it has the Halifax channel map. The map tells the box that channel 637 (CNN) is QAM 115.6, for example. I could probably call Eastlink and get them to switch it to the Dartmouth map, but I don't really care enough to wait on hold for 30 minutes.

Is CNN the only 1080i channel available? It's looks really nice.

No most of the HD channels are 1080i Except for OasisHD, eqHD, radHD, TreasureHD & FoxEastHD .

BTW I just did a QAM scan here in Halifax and I am getting CNNHD(115.6), Big10 SD(115.4) & HD(116.3), TCM SD(114.11) & HD(119.1) , Series+HD(120.1), ZteleHD(120.2) & VieHD(120.3). There not on my DVR though but people in Halifax can watch these new channels if they switch over to there QAM tuners on there TV's. This is awesome lol.

I am still following this thread with interest. Something tells me that some parts of Halifax may have higher capacity than others. (as per my observation last week with an Eastlink truck possibly working on one of the online boosters) Possibly, they are "building out" the Halifax part of the system, and until this is complete in ALL parts of the old city, are not "activating" the boxes to receive these new channels. That is why they are seen in unencrypted form through the QAM tuner, indicating they are there in the cable feed itself.

All this is speculation on my part, though.

I did a QAM search (I live in Summerside, PE) and also found these channels but the TCM HD channel is seriously messed up. Is anyone else having a problem with TCM HD? Does anyone know how long these channels will remain unencrypted?

the TCM HD channel was also very unstable, but that will be fixed when it is actually added. A couple other channels came up blank.

There were a lot of channels that came up blank for me here in Halifax on my QAM scan, are those channels possibly in testing mode? If they are then I would say there were at least 20 channels that I counted that came up blank.

What I posted was the channel maps for Bedford, Dartmouth & Sackville so yes what you see is what those areas have. All those areas surround Halifax but the city of Halifax itself, Eastlinks largest market get left out again.

Still no sign of any of the last 2 batches of HD added to areas around Halifax but not Halifax itself, I think we could be in for a long wait for anymore HD channels in the city of Halifax, my guess is probably not until 2011.
