Hello
I have my TV 2 upstairs in my home and the performance of the TV2 remote is not good. Pressing most buttons does nothing and in most cases you have to point the remote all over the room to get a response. Is there a possible cause of interference leading to the poor performance (I have changed the batteries but that didn't help) Moving nearer to the 9242 receiver does help so I'm thinking it's interference but I'm not sure what might cause it. Any thoughts? Are there ways to improve performance? Thanks |

You can extend the UHF antenna on the back of the unit by using a coaxial cable. See if that helps.

Initially I had this problem with the 9242.
I removed the supplied short whip RF remote antenna and installed a Bow Tie antenna ( 12" x 5" ) about 3' above the receiver . The 300 ohm leads from the bow - tie antenna go into a 300 to 75 ohm coupler and then to the receiver RF antenna input. This works fine in my case 75' apart through many walls and corridors. |

I had the exact same problem yesterday on 6 out of 10, 9241 models.
I swapped out the small antenna's, the batteries etc but no joy, then I grabbed a couple of spare Remotes and they worked just fine. So I think there is an entire batch of Remotes that are not outputting the correct signal levels. |

I also replaced the whip antenna on my 9242 and replace it with an old uhf/vhf indoor antenna I had laying around. I place this antenna on top of my entertainment unit and this greatly improved performance.

Thanks for the suggestions
I'll try out a different antenna and see if that helps. |

I have found that other electronic devices on in the same room as the 9242 will cause interference with the TV2 remote. The PS3 is bad, and my Samsung TV causes problems as well. When either is off, TV2 remote works fine. One more thing to try...

Its driving me and my wife nuts. I can easily control the receiver in the other room with it (by changing from channel 2 to channel 1) so I don't think its the remote.
