Anyone get this today? I'm on the fence about it. Just looking for some gamer feed back.

I thought about it, IGN gave it an 8.9:
http://wii.ign.com/articles/104/1044744p1.html Basically they were saying its good but.....its does this but..... The co-op part sounds interesting but unless you have young children, $60 for a 2D platformer is a little steep, especially if you have played all the others. I have seen it $10 cheaper but there is just so much else out there now that I think you could spend the money better. |

8.9 is a pretty good review. Heck I'm playing the original Final Fantasy on the virtual console. I think I'll be OK with the 2D aspects of this game

I picked it up this weekend. I 'm a big fan of the old Super Mario games and this is definately worth the investment for me. It's already given me a few hours or entertainment

My fiance was very excited to get this game. She insisted that we go the day it came out and picked it up. I'm not going to lie, the game is fantastic. It would be the type of game that would force me to buy the console if I didn't already own it. The game reminds me of the classic Mario games of old, and if you like those games, you'll love this game.
The multiplayer feels fresh and is well done. It's challenging without being to difficult. I highly recommend. |

are the levels any different that the new super mario bros for the ds?
I already played the ds version, don't really want to shell out for a dupe. |

Mario Kart is great, it is a must-have if you like Mario at all.
I also like the WiiSports Resort. |

Zod, it's a completely new game built from scratch just using the same premise a the ds version. There's also 4 player local multi-player.
Triacc, the original Super Mario Brothers from the virtual console store.

Thanks guys I will check those titles out.
I'm a sucker for anything Mario but I always thought the wii Mario games were geared at much younger people (children) |

Picked this up last night and played for about an hour. In general the gameplay is the same as prior Super Mario games. You open up roadways to each level and open more once you complete.
The multiplayer is fun... no one has to sit and watch waiting for your turn. But it does get a little frustrating at times when 2 people want to go opposite directions, when you run into each other, or jump on a team mate's head unintentionally. I can't imagine what it would be like with 4 players. But the new concept is very very fun. My GF is not a big gamer but she grew up playing SMW so this will be one that we can play together (famous last words). |

The Mario games I don't think are geared towards children - I loved Super Mario Galaxy, can't wait for the new one to come out. I got all the Mario games - and all the adults love to play them (including Mario Party and Mario Kart)

Having played Paper Mario, Mario Galaxy and now New Super Mario Bros I'd say that all three are great additions to the Mario franchise, each brings their own traits.
Paper Mario added the 3rd dimension, Galaxy really used the 3rd dimension for new challenges. Now New Super Mario Bros is an old school throw back with a twist. My wife loves the New Super Mario Bros. And so do my boys, aged 4 & 8. The multi-player aspect is quite enjoyable when you have players that can co-operate. When playing with the kids it can be VERY frustrating!
