As there will be no hockey game at 4:00pm, TSN again shows the Champ Car race live at that time (with a replay at 11:30pm). No indication of HD but you never know.

Do you know that they are showing the race for sure at 4:00pm now or is this just an educated guess?

Never mind...I found the answer to my own question.

Right off the main page at TSN:

The first race of the Champ Car series hits the track at the Long Beach Grand Prix in California. Catch the live action, Sunday at 4pm et/1pm pt.

Thats great news, now all I need to see is:

The first race of the Champ Car series hits the track at the Long Beach Grand Prix in California. Catch the live action, IN HIGH DEFINITION, Sunday at 4pm et/1pm pt on TSNHD.

Keep your fingers crossed!

 I just love windowboxed programming on HD channels, especially when the "original" is HD.

Oh well, I've set the VCR to record and I can watch it tonight in 1 hour, instead of tomorrow...

Unbelievable.

Oh well, they make up for it with the sub-NTSC quality.

How amazingly ugly is the downconvert. I wonder who is doing it?

No kidding, it's awful. The Rogers CSR suggested I zoom the image and I stated it was almost unwatchable in unzoomed format and definitely unwatchable in zoom.

I had a really funny conversation with that Rogers HD CSR. When I mentioned the "problem" to her, she said that she doesn't know why they waste the bandwidth on TSN-HD, since there's never anything HD on it. Wow, how refreshing!

She said she'd send an e-mail to TSN and she provided me with the phone number for TSN (CTV). After drilling down a few menu items, I did leave a message for TSN Audience Relations. I encourage others to do the same.

The actual event (non PQ) coverage was awfull as well. Hardly any racing, long dull filler throws, if the content does not improve, these guys are going to be lights out before the end of the season

HDNET always does a great job. Nascar racing should be equally as good.

Since it was 16:9, it may have been HD, but they kept talking about how the pictures were being supplied by Mexican TV, so perhaps not...

Anyone with one of those "grey" dishes catch the race - was it HD?

I find the Champ car racing really stupid this year. It all depends on when you pit, whether there are yellow flags after you pit, etc. It means you don't know who's going to win, but it also means just about anyone can win a race by "luck". Really dumb.
