Stampeder - I took the Bowness site name directly from the CBC transmission website.

http://cbctransmission.ca/

Select 'English' then 'tower map' then 'Alberta'. As you move the cursor over the Calgary area the site names appear at the upper portions of the appearing windows.

Ocourse, I have visited all three sites and am quite familiar. My local CBC contact has now confirmed

that the new antenna and it's transmission line are indeed installed and that the Rhode and Shwarz

transmitter is on order. He reaffirms that DTV service is expected before March 31 this year as we

thought.

The "Artists View" name, I saw when visiting the Global site but had not otherwise asked about the

CBC site name as used by the site staff.

OK; that's better --- for a while you guys (Billsmith & Stampeder) were confusing the heck out of me, such that I was ready to hop in the car and drive five miles on slushy roads to check these tower locations for myself

So then, to summarize, the CBC tower is at the SW corner of 85th St. and Old Banff Coach Rd; the Global tower is on Hwy. 563, further west on Old Banff Coach Rd, in the Artist's View area. Which of these two locations are also known as the "Harvard" tower ? I have no problem identifying the CFCN tower.

Channel 13 Access analog signal antenna array - Calgary [Two antennas mounted on each of the 3 sides of the mast - the lowest EHAAT (height) of all the TV/FM broadcast antenna arrays on this mast. This doesn't help with reception in some parts of the city!]

Default CBRT - Channel 9 Larcan.

Yep - every analog TV broadcaster here in Calgary seems to have a Larcan and this is another shot the CBC's 30Kw Channel 9 unit.

Default CBRT Channel 9 transmitter.

Another shot of the CBRT Channel 9 transmitter showing the cooling air ducts connecting the two air conditioner units and copper coaxial feeders rising up from the top of the panel feeding the combiner at the rear of the transmitter room.
