Question Clear analogue OTA signal turns to snow after 5 minutes

I know this forum is meant for digital TV signal discussion - we haven't upgraded to digital yet, still just using the old non-HD TV set with rabbit ears. (you can laugh, I don't mind.) We just moved and I'm getting really a weird problem now - from Channel 8 (Global) - it will work perfectly, crystal clear for about 5 or 10 minutes and then just cut out completely and turn to snow. This happens every time I turn the TV on - it works at first and then cuts out.

Anyway... I thought that if anybody would know what was causing this it might be you guys! For the time being I'm stuck with CBC as it seems to be the only reliable station from this location.

I don't even know where to start with upgrading, there is a ton of info on this site it's going to take me a while to figure it all out. I'm just not sure if maybe there is something wrong with the TV or what the issue might be.

Thanks in advance,
Diana

My first thought is that as the TV warms up it starts radiating some RF interference that is being picked up by your rabbit ears. Try moving them further from your TV and see if that helps.

If you try another antenna and it does it again that would mean it is your TV set. If its an oldie you might not want the expense of repairing it if you can find a new HDTV at a suitable price.

I'm confused. Where in Ontario is there an analog Global transmitter on channel 8?

Thanks. For some reason I thought this had started out in a Kingston ON area thread.
In that case, this sounds like a TV set issue.
