Default Record lock out on some programs

Hi Group:
I have a new PVR system from Shaw. When I attempt to set up a recording. Instead of a full red circle showing a future recording. I get a blank circle with a line thru it. The system then will not record that show. It seems to happen without any particular pattern. When I try to cancel that proposed recording, it wont disappear.

Thanks for the help guys.

Default same problem in Vancouver

OMG, I'm having the exact same problem here in Vancouver! I've been calling Shaw several times a day for about 5 days now, while waiting for the tech guy to come 4 days from today. Same problems -- spontaneous resetting, the programming guide and the series recording disappearing, and the freezing. Did it get resolved for you?

Default Failing to enter a record time

Hi Group:
I was able to set up some record times, others wouldn,t. I kept getting a notsign (circle with a line thru it)

Shaw spent some time with me on the phone, and then we finally arranged for a tec next week.

In the morning, I started checking series recording set up.
One program it showed a >
The other series recording had no name.

I deleted these series recordings, and everything is OK now.
Obviously when the software was updated, it put in these strange series recording. There was no indication elsewere of these settings.

I cancelled Shaw tec.

Default 2 recordings at same time

Hi Group:
I set up, for two HD recordings at noon yesterday. One of the recordings had breakup both in the audio and video. The video at times , would only show some large bits, then normal then break-up.
(BTW, the show with problem recorded normally off a digital box)
A double recording later at 3 PM had no problems.

Default Display Capability Resetting

Hi, I keep setting the box to only display 1080i so when I switch to non HD channels it does not take as long. The issue is that each time I turn off my cable box it resets all the capabilities back to YES. Wondering if anyone has this issue and if there is a fix. This is my second box since my first one just died on me over the holidays, and I am pretty sure I did not have this issue with the other box. Thanks.

Smile Using two Shaw PVR's on one TV

I'm just trying to set up two PVR's on my main TV. The reason for this is to allow me to signal split and enable me to record 4 programs at once. The reason for this is because I've got two daughters (17 and 18) who seem to like to record everything and anything.

I'm using a Motorola 6416 and now a PACE DC758D with the 1TB expander. I've also just purchased the Harmony One remote and am having problems setting it all up.

It seems that both these PVR's respond at the same time for any given remote control command.

So, my question is: Can one of these PVR's be programmed such that it would have a different IR frequency that it and only it will respond to a remote control command?

Many thank you's to anyone who may be of assistance

Unfortunately this has been asnwered in the past and the answer is no. If you have a Pace you can disable the front panel and use the IR tether and set it up so it's further away from the other PVR. Only other options are a piece of cardboard in front of the display or move their PVR and their recordings to an SD TV.

Is there a way to set resolution I would like 1080 rather than 720?

For TV resolution capability, I have everything set to YES, but my HD channels are not always showing up in HD. For example, I can never get CNN to display in HD. My TV is 720p, so shouldn't it display on the entire screen? I do have 16:9 set on the PACE, and my TV I have the display set to Just Scan (1:1).

Only the channels in the 200s are HD. Are you talking about CNN in the 200 range? It's on 215 here in Calgary and I think it is part of HD Plus so it doesn't come with regular cable.

Yes, channel 215 CNN HD. I spoke too soon though, I just went to the channel and it is now in HD... strange. I will test some others.

214, for me, Home Improvement is on right now, and I guess it was never filmed in HD so it isn't in HD currently? Albeit it's on an HD channel...

Just because the channel is HD, doesn't mean that all shows are HD on the channel.
