I was hoping Pace boxes used diffferent remote codes than the motorolas too. I have 2 PVR's in the same room hooked up to a slingbox and have to make one of them 'view only' because of this. Otherwise the same signal from sling gets sent to both boxes....

Default Pace Summit (DC758D)-Ethernet

I recently purchased the Summit from Shaw, with the included WD 1TB hard drive. I noticed on the box, amongst all the inputs, there is an Ethernet connection... What is the purpose of this, and is there any likelihood of using it to connect to a home network?

I doubt its possible, however it would be great nonetheless.

Seriously?

From the Shaw website:
http://www.shaw.ca/NR/rdonlyres/3ACF...Copy6OCT05.pdf

Is this what you are looking for? This same manual should have come with your PVR. Maybe check the box again.

Default Sound Problem with DC758D

Go the box yesterday, install went OK, records nicely, works OK, except I have a sound problem.

There is a constant humming noise on all the channels, some are so bad you cannot hear the program. I have an old SONY Trinitron TV (KV-32V68). I have tried the internal speakers and speakers through my make shift sound system, same results. Have tried all the sound options that are offered by the TV and the PVR, same results.

I have tried every thing to get rid of the humming, short of calling SHAW, but no luck. Anyone having the same problem, or is it my TV. TV worked great with the old Moto Digital Terminal, no sound problems.

Perfect guide, found SETUP button. Thanks a lot. Vow! I didn't know I could do so much with this remote control! But it cannot be found through Shaw customer service web pages.

Sounds like a possible 'ground loop' that could be caused by either a broken cable or a cable not pushed in all the way. Recheck all your connections and be sure they also all go to the correct terminals. Try a different set of cables too, if you have some.

Tried my cables from my other TV and all is working OK. I just assumed since the cables worked with my old box nothing was wrong with them. Maybe broke something when I disconnected them..

Thanks again..Dan

Glad I could help. I have had the same thing happen several times over the years. Cables take a 'set' when hanging from the equipment and can break when simply moved, let alone being unplugged and reconnected. Please be sure to let us know what you think of your new Summit now that the audio issue is gone.

I don't know if anyone knows anything about the Summit because no one is answering my questions but I'll keep asking them anyways. lol

I tried a couple different codes from Harmony on my universal remote (motorola and pace codes) and on both it appears that the skip button is skipping ahead in 1 minute intervals instead of 30 sec on the motorolas. Is this normal for Pace devices or is it due to the extra storage space (1TB)??

Have you checked the 'Configuration' info to see what your settings are?

To see the info, press Menu twice, Setup, Cable Box Setup, Configuration, OK, then press the FAV button 6 times.

The title at the top should read: ---Software Filtering---
R/H Column should show:
DVR Skip Fwd1: 30
DVR Skip Fwd2: 300
DVR Skip Back1: 15
DVR Skip Back2: 300

If your Skip Fwd1 shows '60' then you are correct that it is set to skip ahead one minute. I don't know of any other boxes that do this at this time. Please confirm your configuration for the rest of us.

Thx for the reply, didn't know about this feature. My settings are same as yours. My hunch is it could be related to the storage increase...??

I can only speak from the Aspen that it is still skipping forward 30 seconds even with the Extender connected. How are you determining yours is skipping 1 minute instead of 30 seconds when your configuration confirms it should be 30 sec? Just curious.

Because each 'skip' goes 1 minute ahead on the recording?
