I saw only a few minutes of the game on TSN2 last night, but this did not look like HD to me, especially the graphics on the screen. The CFL graphics stick out a lot more then what I was seeing last night. And the picture quality really looked like widescreen and not HD. Can anyone confirm if this was HD or not. Even the game last week didn't look like HD either.

All games on TSN and TSN2 are HD, Both last nights game and the Toronto game last week looked really good on my HD set via EastLink, you might need to calibrate your TV set or check your connections

Actually I was commenting that I thought the HD was super last night...much better than normal.

It was also pretty mediocre here on Shaw, but I think it was HD. I'm on Shaw so medicore HD is expected somewhat.
I think TSNHD has gone downhill personally with very few NHL HD broadcasts being the quality they used to be. The only good consistent quality HD NHL action is on Centre Ice. Sportsnet isn't too bad actually. I find the Oilers games look great usually. CBC is hit and miss. At least for me. |

IMHO TSN2HD and Sportsnet East HD, here on EastLink, look the best PQ wise for hockey. TSNHD seems to be a bit overcompressed here.

I can confirm the broadcast was in HD. It looked fine on Rogers (Ontario). RDS (which was also HD, doing the same game) looked a tad better. It all depends on how much your cable/satellite provider compresses it.

Montreal @ Buffalo game last night (BELL,TSNHD) picture quality was so bad the family's call to watch Judge Judy was a fair one.

It was that bad that you thought it was Montreal playing Buffalo? It was actually Detroit, but I agree, the picture quality on Bell was terrible. Lots of macroblocking on movement, over enhanced sharpness, noise, awful. But I think some of this was on the Versus end of things as I've heard games on that channel haven't looked good this year.

I saw part of it too, the white levels seemed to be very over exposed. It looked bad for last weeks games too. Best HD games this year for me have been on Sportsnet East HD and TSN2HD

Didn't watch a lot of the game, but on Shaw Direct it didn't look too bad. Generally I think Sportsnet HD and TSN2 HD look better than TSN HD.

Yep, last night did look bad. Thought I don't think VS ever has quality HD in my experience using Bell and Shaw. The Leafs/Avs game last night on CI looked fantastic (as CI usually does).

I noticed it too, also on Bell.
It's a shame because there are not a lot of opportunities to see Sabres games in HD even with Centre Ice due to the MSG issues. |
