If your going to give a game a score of 10 the one and ONLY negative comment you should have is that it had to end. |

Here it is, from Gamefly
The A.I. is a little suspect, the camera can be stubborn, and you will die your fair share of cheap deaths. But it's still a fantastic effort and Naughty Dog deserves full credit for building upon the momentum of the first installment. PS3 owners should definitely experience it, especially if they liked the original. Score 100% Umm say what? |

I think it's a major problem with video game reviews. Just look at Scribblenauts - a very clever, innovative game, but one that has a ton of problems with it, most notably the control method used (it's insanely frustrating, and I've stopped playing it because one level is driving me nuts simply because of control issues). It scored 100/100 from one site, 95/100 from another, and 90/100 from a ton of others. How on earth could a game get 100/100 when you don't have proper control over the character? HOW? Thankfully there are lots of other sites that gave the game a true review and it's lowered the overall metacritic score, but what does that say about the sites that gave it such a high mark?
Yes, I read reviews, and I talk to friends, but there's only one real review that I trust, and that's mine (unfortunately that usually happens AFTER I've bought the game). I have no doubt that U2 will be awesome based on the first game and the multiplayer beta I tried out. Gord |

I have played the demo myself and I love the new multilayer! Can't wait for the game to come out!

Hopefully multiplayer has something equivalent to hardcore type damage like cod4. I really do get annoyed when someone gets up and runs after being struck by a launched grenade or rpg, or unloading a full mag and no death.

It's already sold out, but Dell had a preorder deal earlier today. I placed my order, and now the ship date is showing as Nov 17th! Doesn't seem like such a good deal now...

I preordered Demon's Soul from Amazon and it launches tomorrow yet the shipping date is "between Oct 16th-21st". Beware if you preordered via Amazon.

I was going to order from Dell today but wondered about the ship date. I have been burned before by others, preorder something a month ahead and they run out and you get your order 6 weeks after the release date. FS say$59 and BB says $69 , have to wait for WM.

I ordered BioShock from Dell and ended up canceling it a month after street date because they still hadn't shipped it. That's the last time I preorder from them.
I preordered Uncharted 2 from Amazon.ca, knowing it'll be at least a week later when I receive it, but I have a whole bunch of unfinished games to play anyway (as well as the wonderful Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection!). Gord |

^ I have got in-stock stuff from amazon.com before stuff ordered from amazon.ca on the same day. With the "huge" .com shipping, it still usually works out about the same price (otherwise I'd wait).

More and more stuff can't be ordered from .com. I originally placed my Christmas order of 6 games and 4 of them "can't be shipped to your location" including aforementioned Demon's Soul.

^ Sorry, yes, that seems to be true for games. I wasn't specifically thinking of games, just delivery times (you'd think from Canada would be faster...).

I preordered from Dell only once, for GTA4. It arrived 2 days after the release date. It wasn't that big of a deal, but still I now prefer to just buy it the day of release or pre-order from a retail store

Has any game resolved shaky camera issues? Especially now with these games where you can climb up and down. I had those trouble with Infamous. And dying cheap deaths just sounds like a comment. In general, the perfect scores are coming out as the game is compared to others of its generation. It has all the good things all good games have (production, story, gameplay, multiplayer, etc.) It's like when a buy a small SUV with the rear door that swings open to the right. It's not useful for loading against a curb (in North America). It just makes no sense that some manufacturers keep doing it over and over again. Car makes should always do it the correct way so it doesn't show up as a negative in a review. I digress.. |
