They're a lot funnier than what passes for comedy these days.
It was nice to see a couple of Lucy's last night for purely nostalgic reasons but in all honesty I do wonder if old comedy programs are really a viable programming source today. What was funny back in the golden age of TV (50's, early 60's) seems very naive in our time. People and their sense of humour have changed. Last edited by 57; 2012-07-01 at 10:33 PM. Reason: UQR |

Don't get me wrong, I too love the nostalgia of the old I Love Lucy shows, but to to watch it end for end for "days" with back to back episodes, is a bit much, no matter what program it is. It's like the Bell put the show on, and just walked away, leaving it play on and on etc.
I also agree that times have changed, as well as sense of humors etc, and what was funny or entertaining 50 or 60 years ago, may seem quite *yawn* boring today. I'm just saying it would have been nice if Bell would have given us a little variety on that comedy channel, with several different shows...eg The Carol Burnet Show, or Ed Sullivan, Bonanza from way back when, instead of one continuous diet of I Love Lucy. |

No point in having free previews when everybody is watching the Olympics.
There is still DisneyXD on free preview until November |

My wife is upset that the Comedy Gold preview is gone, but I can't justify paying $10 where Comedy Gold and TVtropolis are the only channels in the Variety package that we'll actually watch.
