I also have a comment, my hubby and I listen to the oldies channel and it never fails but 'Sloop John B' always gets cut off about midway through and the song 'Ronnie' by Frankie Valli will start out but gets cut off by another song, any chance of this being fixed? also my hubby wants to know where you get the stereo version of songs by the Stones like 'Mothers little helper' and 'Get off of my cloud', can't seem to find them anywhere

New website up, with list of last 10 songs, last 24 hours, etc. Thanks.

Rogers channel numbers don't appear to be correct though...

StingrayDigital; has Stingray launched their own Galaxie channels? I know Stingray has a licence for a cat 2 pay tv audio service, so are any of the Galaxie channels on the air now owned by Stingray or is Stingray just operating Galaxie on behalf of the CBC?

It depends on where you hear it. When an FM station plays "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" they usually play the long version, and AM plays the short. In fact, I just heard the short version yesterday on CKOC. I agree they should play the long version. I'm old enough to remember when there were often long versions of songs for "LPs" and short versions for "45s". Fortunately, they never released a 45 version of Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant". ;-)

I recall when I first heard that long drum solo in the middle of the long version of "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida". It was quite something at the time.

I don't believe there's a way to, using the QAM frequencies, unless they are in the same order that they are on the Rogers channel lineup, which you should be able to find on the Rogers website - Channels 712 and up. Or perhaps the information in the following FAQ may be of use.

I figured it would be confusing to post given these are regional.

Is anybody else experiencing audio cutting in and out on the Galaxie channels? I was thinking this might have to do with my HDMI connection, but the video is solid and this is not a problem on any other channel (including the radio stations.) Any ideas about why this might be happening?

I see that Galaxie on Rogers have changed their "video" background. Instead of the old blue, they now have several pictures that change with time. I have the following comments:

1. It's nice that I can now see the artist as well as the song title when using my IPG. I often have Galaxie up while doing my scheduled recordings and the blue background only showed the song title in the "PiP" of the Rogers IPG. Thanks.

2. The display no longer goes into screen-saver mode (after five minutes or if you press the select button). I wish it did as it saves power on a Plasma and is less of a burn in concern.

3. I wish that more of the on-line type of information were on-screen - like previous songs and the next song, instead of only the current song. (Edit, next song is displayed)

Perhaps if someone from Galaxie is reading, they'll keep these comments in mind....

(as mentioned in posts below, these channels are now on QAM and recordable, rather than simple audio streams that are non-recordable)

Edit - the "Tacky pictures" have been replaced and are now typically album covers with the next song information available full time.

Thanks Paolo, I must have been looking away or flipping channels and missed it (the "next" song info.)

I like the idea of the current and next song being shown but I could do without the tacky pictures, album covers would have been fine.
