Default Rogers Cup Tennis

Is it my television or does one of the cameras have a missing pixel right in the middle of the picture? Really notice it when that one camera zooms in.

The picture on my TV looked fine last night (on both TSNHD & TSN2HD w/ Rogers) - haven't watched any of the broadcasts yet today.

don't worry, it ain't your set. I see 2 pixels on the side camera as well

I must add that as annoying as the 2 pixels are, Peter Burwash as a tennis analyst is more annoying.

Would this guy please shut up!

Gimme Brad Gilbert please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What really annoys me is when they bring up the "BottomLine" during play. I find that extremely distracting.

However, I do like it when they leave the screen clean without the scorebox. I just wish they would do that more often!

What a mess that was ... the tape replay of the Polansky/Djokovic match. Numerous lengthy picture and sound dropouts ... black screens.

Gawd,,the broadcast of the Federer/Niemeyer match reached the level of self parody..cliche after cliche from Burwash and Mark Lee doing his best to put you to sleep.. Very few replays (thank goodness I can run it back myself with ye trusty PVR.

I don't like the angle they have for rallies..Its too high..I guess I got spoiled with the excellent camera angles at Wimbledon.

OH well..thats enough bitching for today...wink..

I wonder why they have the black area of the score box stretched out near the edge of the widescreen?

Disappointing performance by Monfils!

You can see a lower camera at the bottom of the screen, but for some reason they do not seem to be using it.

I hadn't noticed that HiDefBob..thanks..

Maybe its broken like ther replay machine...lol..

Monfils is an interesting player..He play a little stiffly at times and seems to use too much arm and not enough body..then He can look like Kobe Bryant attacking the basket..I think a little more coaching would turn him into a fearsome player.

Look at how Roddick's backhand and tactical abilities have improved..I was amazed at his game in the Wimbledon finals and wonder why it took so long for him to realize changes were needed.

I guess they go along with thier strengths as long at they are winning and only change when they run up against an opponenent who has their number. I am sure Roddick got sick of losing to Fed...that hasn't changed but he was a service break away from beating him at Wimby.

it was obvious at Wimbledon that Roddick was told or realized to tighten up his approaches and whenever possible come in against Fed's backhand. It served him well, at 8-8 15-40 in the 5th set Andy had 2 BP to serve for the title.

What I find funny, last night, Burwash mentioned that players should attack the net vs Fed's forehand pass and stay away from his backhand pass.

It's tennis 101 that to beat Fed you attack his backhand. Wary a player who comes in against Fed's forehand.

At least Monfils picked up his game in the 2nd set to give us some excitement. That 50 shot rally was awesome! You could really see that those short returns were killing him. On the other hand Ferrero played a smart game.

I am really looking forward to seeing Nadal play again. I just hope his knees hold out. Men's tennis really needs him back in form.

Yes, the Ferrero v Monfils 2nd set made it worth watching. Now, question of the hour: if Roddick's match with Andreev goes on long will Around The Horn (an awful show) and PTI be postponed OR will TSN2 currently showing non-live Rogers tennis pick up LIVE coverage OR will TSN just leave us hanging?

Fortunately, Roddick made quick work of Andreev so we did not have to find out what TSN would do! Roddick is looking good. Nadal is next ... cannot wait!

According to my clock it was 5.01pm when it ended. Had Andreev won the set I'd like to think TSN would've stuck with it.

They've got a problem on their hands now though at 7.50pm. Ferrer has retired injured so TSN will probably resort to replying earlier matches. Barely half an hour of tennis for the poor paying public.

Sad that the Nadal/Ferrer match got cut short due to injury. That was nice of Nadal playing with the wheelchair player ... Nadal like Federer is such a class act.

Who is the moron announcer in the main Grandstand! Surely he must know their is a match going on at the Stadium Court! What an idiot.

Fortunately, TSN went to live action at the Stadium Court .. Gonzalez/Haas.

I have to ask why Montreal could not afford to put the challenge system in the two main courts. All the major tournaments around the world have it in both main courts.
