Default John Hughes, Bard of Teenage Angst, Has Died

John Hughes, the prolific writer and director who turned teen angst into Hollywood gold and along the way made stars of Molly Ringwald, Matthew Broderick and Robert Downey Jr., has died.

What a big loss. He made movies that were fun to watch with any family member, young and old. He joins one of my all time favorite canadian actor: John Candy

Very sad.
I am a product of the 80's and he had a profound influence on that generation.
He was also a terrific writer for National Lampoon, when it was a great magazine.

This is a blog by a woman, who, as a teenager, wrote Hughes a letter after seeing The Breakfast Club, and eventually became a pen-pal with him.
