Default Average U.S. Home has almost three tv's

New findings from the 49th edition of Nielsen's Television Audience Report show that, by January of this year, the average American home had 2.86 television sets.

38% of homes have Digital Cable, 24% have DVR's and the average number of channels tuned to in a month was 18.

The two of us in our home have 4 TV's, 2 530's, 1 505, 2 older receivers.

I have one 42" HDTV and one 27" CRT set. There's just me, my dog and my cat. The dog doesn't seem too interested in TV but the cat often is. ;-)

We have 1 27inch crt, 1 50 inch plasma, 1 28 inch LCD and 1 projector. All of these are up and running. If I add those that are in storage, that adds 5 other tvs to the 4 we have. Wow. That's alot of tvs.

All these TV's and yet, there are times when there isn't anything on them worth watching. What a shame...

4 sat receivers, 1-52", 1-32", 1-26", 4-14" for 4 people. Like it has been said, a lot of times with nothing to watch on tv.

How many people have unused TVs sitting around because they paid $2000 or more for them and are unwilling to sell them off for the $100 they are worth now?

When I bought my HDTV, the 27" that was in the living room was moved to the bedroom. The 24" that was in the bedroom went to Goodwill.
