I use a Hauppauge HD-PVR which captures at 1080i via component out from my Rogers 8300HD.
I was also running an HDMI out from the 8300HD straight to my Sony 46" LCD TV (also 1080i). This was working fine, then I noticed I was getting nothing on my HD-PVR. After much troubleshooting, I pulled the HDMI cable and voila - the component output started. Now I have to set up as: 8300HD component to HD-PVR HD-PVR component to TV Not my preferred option as I probably lose some quality versus HDMI. Did anyone else notice this? How did they effect this change? Silent firmware update? |

See the Rogers 8300 HD thread for details as this has been discussed many times.

See "8300HD -Does it allow Component and HDMI output to 2 HDTVs at the same time? (No)": http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=75550
