Default MPIX moved to mega package

I subscribe to Anglo package (which includes MPIX) and custome package. Last week I made some channel changes on my custome package and then noticed that I no longer had MPIX. I called customer service and was informed that MPIX is no longer offered and is only available as part of the MEGA package at $60/month. This is typical Videotron screwing with their customers trying to remove favorite channels and making them only available on more expensive packages. This way customers will have to migrate to the more expensive package. This has really pissed me off I registered a complaint. If you liked MPIX, please register a complain with Videotron.

Yes, Videotron allows you to keep MoviePix channel if, before the change, you already had the Anglo package or had MoviePix as part of your custom package. However, Videotron's idea of "grandfathering" is a total joke because now you can no longer make anymore changes to your packages. As soon as you do, you lose the Moviepix channel. In my case, I had the Moviepix as part of the Anglo package. I also have a custom package with the Anglo package. Because of the so called "Grandfathering", Videotron has slapped hancuffs on me and I can not make anymore changes to my custom channels. As soon as I do, I will lose the Moviepix from my Anglo package.

Thank you Videotron.

that depends on your package, AFAIK, if you have a custome package (15,20 ot 30 channel), normally as far as you doesnt remove it from the package, you should keep the channel

No. You cannot make anymore changes. Videotron ties your hands. It has happened to me and I lost MoviePix. Called Videotron and they confirmed that as soon as you make a change to your packages or channel selections, you lose MoviePix, even if your changes do not involve MoviePix.

So if you have MoviePix as part of your custom package, you will no longer have the flexibility to make changes to your other channels. Unlerss you call a customer service and beg! They might give you a onetime pass, but will warn you (and put a note in your file) that any further changes will cause you to lose MoviePix!

Thank You Videotron!

It is true. I currently have Telemax with the TMN option. I tried changing my package online to the Mega, and when I tried to accept, it told me it cannot do it, and that I needed to call Videotron. So I called, and they told me that if I switch to Mega package, that I would lose Mpix and Morepix (channels 216 and 217). I found this really strange.

In any case, I can see the day where we're going to lose these channels.

Even though Videotron serves Quebec where the predominant language is French, there is an English population that relies on them. Bell is not an option because their service sucks.

I just wish Videotron would keep up with the times and give the channels that other providers have. Where is TSN2? Where are all the HD sports channels?

It's too bad. Videotron is a good company. But it could be a great company if it stayed up to date and provided the channels like the other providers across the country.

I recently moved and had to set up a new account (the old account was transferred to a roommate).

Videotron would not allow me to have MPIX at all. They said the provider was charging too much, and that they were phasing it out. Under no package would they allow me to subscribe to this channel.. So I guess MPIX HD will never happen with Videotron..sigh.

Are they part of the TMN offering now?

Interesting, considering that Cable VDN in Montreal has Moviepix on its extended analog tier. (At least it did as of two months ago.)

As an FYI, with Rogers we get MPix (and HBO1/2) as part of our "TMN Package". The price for this package did go up about $2 recently.

Same thing with Bell TV. The two Mpix channels + MPIX HD are bundled with TMN & HBO 1-2 ($16 for this pack if you have 7 theme packs; otherwise $19). You can also get Mpix bundled with SuperChannel for $16. I recently moved away from Videotron TV, as it was getting really pathetic.

Argghh. Landlord doesn't allow dishes, and nothing else but Videotron is available at my address in the downtown area. I'm a prisoner to Videotron and I hate it!!

It seems that as January 20, Videotron has decided to include MPIX (& MorePix) back with the Anglo and Telemax Packages.
