One of the channels is only DV - you don't mention which channel(s) you're having issues with. If you press the settings button once and scroll up to SAP and set that properly, that may be where the DV is coming from. I assume you're not talking about CC, which is also under the first (quick) settings options

Set your audio language to English.

Sorry, I'm having this problem with 'The Simpsons' on CBC at 5pm EDT on the HD channel.
My box is set to 'English' for the language. Just flipped between Spanish and back to English, will keep an ear out to see if I hear the descriptive video again. |

If it was just one programme, there could have been an error. If it was more, then let's hope the issue is resolved now. If it comes back, try a cold reboot of the STB - unplug/replug.

You can check what audio you have visually, even if it isn't a DV show. On CBC HD if your sound is decoding as 5.1 you are on the primary audio. Described Video is encoded as 2.0.

My receiver is showing dolby digital, I have the box set to 'English', but the descriptive video is still coming thru on The Simpsons at 5:00 EDT on CBCHD. It's very annoying.
I don't have the same problem with the SD CBC channel.... |

Mystery solved. It's not your box, it's our upconversion.
On SD shows the DV is on track 3. When it's upconverted audio 3 is used for center channel, so the DV needs to be shuffled to audio 7+8 (second PID, Dolby Digital 2.0). Today's show was incorrectly upconverted, as was the show on the 7th. The proper people have been informed. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the feedback.
