I received this response today from SaskTel:
Dear XXX: SaskTel does not have launch plans with regards to the Palm Pre device. Thank you for using www.sasktel.com. Please reply to this e-mail with any further questions. Sincerely, SaskTel Customer Services Team |

I guess there not worried about competition and making an attempt to try and have some of the latest tech available to their customers!

No kidding... Upon a second inquiry, they advised me they won't activate the phone purchased from another company either, so they really don't seem to care about my money.
I have been a SaskTel customer for about 17 years and if they won't get me a Palm Pre I might just have to move over to Telus... I'm waiting a reply from them to see if they have any plans to bring in the device. This is pretty frustrating... AC |

I think Bell has the exclusive rights to the Pre in Canada - at least at launch.

SaskTel has the sorriest lineup of phones I've ever seen. I just can't seem to find a deal I'm happy with from Rogers yet or I'd be gone as well.

They do seem to be lacking in the "WOW" factor with their phone lineup.
As far as Bell having exclusive rights... it doesn't make sense here because Bell is not a wireless carrier in Saskatchewan - they would have nothing to gain by excluding SaskTel at launch. The BB Storm is $100 less on a 3 year contract with Telus too... makes you wonder. No reply yet from Telus on the Pre. AC |
