Default More Dave: Letterman Gets a New Deal With CBS

David Letterman can breathe a sigh of relief. He won’t have to move his show to prime time like Leno, because his late night show is close to being extended.

Good for Dave. I guess all those fired-up protestors at the Ed Sullivan Theatre calling for his ouster (all 2 dozen of them) won't get their wish.

One glaring error in the article is that it states that Dave has been with CBS since 1982. That's wrong. The Late Show premiered on CBS in 1993.

Dave was with NBC before that. I've been watching his show since 1981, when it was on in the morning, before it even became Late Night.

Why were protestors wanting Dave out?

CBS will likely want to keep David Letterman as long as he beats Conan O'brien in the ratings. If he starts losing out to O'brien on a regular basis, there will be changes.

O'brain should be more worried about Leno than Letterman.
