i've had WGTE come in a few nights, and i've had CIII-TV-29 come in as well... so i assume the interference comes from CIII-TV-29 overpowering WGTE-DT... as for CKCO-TV-3 42... that could explain why i have seen poor reception lately (when tropo is wild)... but i thoguth WGGN-DT was on 22 instead.

Default WPXD-DT CP granted

Update from previous post #258

WPXD-DT (50) application has now changed to granted for Southfield. Building out might begin whenever bankrupt ION Media gets some money to do so at some point?...

i think they'll build it fairly quickly with a loan from their current owners (Citadel Investment Group), as Detroit's a top-15 market, and represents a LARGE viewing area (around 5 million people). if the signal's in southfield, it'll even reach Toledo and Flint as fringe coverage (adding another million viewers). This will also add another 750K viewers on the canadian side that will now be within range of their signal on a regular basis.

the only downside is that this may cause interference for those that are trying to recieve WNWO-DT 49 from Toledo... i hope that's not the case.

Another downsides for WPXD on 50 are:
CHCH on 51. Which will cause interference for Sarnia and maybe Chatnam members.
Theres also WEAO (PBS) on rf 50 out of Clevelend. [180kW @ 305m Omnidirectional antenna]. Which may cause problems for Toledo users.

read ya l8r,
Al

what about WNWO-DT on 49?
I know leamington people might be screwed if WPXD and WEAO interfere with each other...
I doubt CHCH-TV-2 will have too much interference... when WKBD was on 50, i could watch CHCH as well... besides, i thought digital channels are immune to adjacent-channel interference...

just to solve things, CHCH-TV-2 will move to 24 (where it will be squeezed up next to CHWI-TV-25) after the canadian digital conversion...

True indeed. Lately WEAO has been coming in many nights even though it is a Tropo only channel here. In the winter though WPXD RF50 should be quite reliable I hope.

If your too close to Alvinston. CHCH@51 can knock out WPXD or WEAO. Plus, even DTV switch. There is still a unused channel 51 assignment off of the Alvinston transmittor.

Tonight I just noticed my TV has a new 7-4 entry for WXYZ now. It shows nothing and has no information beside it.. anybody else have this appear or is it just me?
I took a look and i'm still just picking up 3 stations from WXYZ. Even rescanned the RF and still 3.

Correction. The 7-4 in question is linked to WJBK on RF7. WJBK 2-2 SD is totally gone now and this must have something to do with that.

Many PBS stations have a sub channel that offer upgrades to televisions, at least this is what I understand.
Erie's WQLN, and Cleveland's WVIZ have these such sub channel's and all three of my televisions, all different brands show this when I go to these sub channels.

Hope this helps you a bit.

the only thing is, 7-1 is WXYZ, ABC Detroit... is it possible it was just a decoding issue, and WJBK was trying to show through as 7-4? (i've noticed they got rid of their SD simulcast on 2-2...)
