Default in HD: HBO's True Blood Season #2

A perky telepathic waitress and her 173-year-old vampire soul mate, born-again brother, shape-shifting boss and foul-tempered pal are back for a new season of the acclaimed HBO drama series True Blood.

The series is based on the best-selling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris and tells the tale of a small Louisiana town where vampires live openly amongst their human counterparts, thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood.

The series follows the unconventional romance between waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and her relationship with Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), the town's first vampire.

Season two picks up with the discovery of a dead body outside Merlotte's and Sookie's reunion with Bill after a daylight rescue that almost turned him to dust. Joining the cast for a two-episode guest-starring role is Evan Rachel Wood as the 500-year-old Vampire Queen of Louisiana.

All 12 new episodes of True Blood will be offered in High Definition on HBO Canada HD and will be available on demand following the network premieres.

On TMN and MC: Sunday, June 14 at 9 p.m. ET/MT.

Wouldn't you know, a stupid little thunderstorm rolls through my area right at 9:30 pm, and knocks power out for few minutes, interrupting my recording of True Blood. Fortunately I recorded it again on HBO2 and watched it uninterrupted.

It was a pretty good season opener. I liked seeing more of Anna Paquin http://jam.canoe.ca/Television/2009/...enn-story.html

I glad I started watching this series and have caught up to live broadcasts. S02 was getting a bit weird though compared to the first season, but this last episode (S02E04) filled in a few blanks.

I usually hate vampire shows...but this one I just love...right from the opening song until the credits role...

I don't think so. It seems like they are feeding us more intrigue each week. Those Soldiers of the Sun fanatics spook me....

I'm not sure where this whole man-animal thing is going. I am a little worried about that. The rest of the show just rocks, especially the music (is the opening theme by Jace Everett not an absolute killer?).

Me too. The first season was great and more-or-less limited to humans and vamps. Given how good it has been so far though, I have faith and hope that they know what they are doing introducing all these other creatures.

Is it me or did the "Eric" character change considerably this season? He seemed much more powerful in S01.

The Maryanne Forrester character is interesting. I thought at first she was a witch, but after the last episode I'm not so sure.

She is a Maenad. Link below explains the Greek mythology:

Agreed!

I wish there was a list of music for each episode, some of the songs are awesome!

The one playing when everyone was up and dancing in Sam's bar is one I would love to get, but have not found a reference to what the song is or who wrote it.

There are music credits for each episode listed on HBO's website. I know the song you mean, I looked for that one as well, but it appears to have been created especially for the episode and I haven't found a release of it yet. It's called Wanna Cause Some Trouble and it is credited to "Black Oak Music".

Far as I can tell, it is "Black Toast Music". Their web site:
http://www.blacktoastmusic.com
If you go there, you can search and find that song. It even lists what CDs it has been on. You can play a clip of the song, and I WANT THAT SONG!!!!. It is amazing WCS, and I want to play it in my class!

However, I have been unable to find a listing for any of them on Amazon.ca/.com, My Music, AllTunes, or anyplace else. I have emailed Black Toast to see if they can tell me where to find the CDs, or if I can buy from them.

Also found the following:

"Dig" by Headbone!
That's the song that played during the end credits.
Thanks rfielder, that last website gave me the answer.
