I was shocked to read in the Star this morning that a Scarborough resident must pay a $125 permit fee to repave his driveway. Apparently this requirement has been around for years but the bylaw was rarely enforced. Neither the man, nor his neighbours were even aware of this bylaw? Can this be true?

Apparently so according to this link
http://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2...nfile-9765.pdf I looked at the building permit info on the Toronto website and didn't see any reference to needing a permit for driveway paving so it's no wonder people don't know about it. Doesn't surprise me in Miller's Toronto though..... |
