Default Roady XT problem finding FM frequency

Problem comes up when I remove the Roady unit from my car. When I re-mount the unit the menu item to select FM frequency is gone from the menu list. In the past I have been able to get the item back on the menu but I am not sure how I did it. The antenna leed is still connected and the display shows 3-4 bars. Any ideas how to restore FM frequency connection?

No nothing in the aux out jack. There never has been. There is a single connector (in addition to the power supply) which is the satelite antennae connection. By some "magic" a connector 300 mm along the antenae wire allows for the connection of a FM radio antenae pickup. This pickup is one of two options for input to the car radio, the other being a cassette input which is too noisey and most of the time the cassette is not working. (shades of 8 tracks past)

All this is wired as per the supplied manual and has worked succesfully for more than a year. (Witness the two payments to XM). I have in the past removed the radio from it's car mount and when I put it back the "select frequency" item on the menu was not available. Each time, until the last, the menu item came back thru some degree of fidling with radio and Roady. This time no luck. I was hoping for a SOP from the user's manual but it is vague. If I cannot find a proceedure I will have to assume ther is a problem with the Roady and ???????

Strange.. just did a bit of reasearch for you..

Get a pair of headphones or something you can plug into the aux jack.. with the radio on, plug them in to the jack, take them out, see if the FM option re-appears.

Do you have a spare antenna you can test with?

Have you ever used the radio with a Belkin boombox?

Also, if nothing is working, check the pins in the connector on the radio and the car dock, see if any are bent or broken. Do you take the radio out of the dock often?
