Lightbulb metal mast pipe for SBGH?

I mounted a 4' piece of ABS pipe to the back of my SBGH to mount it to my flagpole temporarily. My question is, can i use a metal mast pipe when i install it my tower and rotor? If anyone is curious it cost me $ 57.50 to build a SBGH, from scratch.

Yeah, I modeled a 1 1/4 inch typical mast on the SBGH and its OK. Make sure the colinear rods or reflector sections dont short out on the metal mast.

Well, I guess you didnt shop around much, heh. I figure less than $25 US to build from scratch.

Thank's 300ohm. I did shop around , home Depot,Can. tire, HomeHardware, etc. that's just the difference between Canada and the US. I even stripped the 10-2 wire. A 4bay antenna up here is about $90.00 +ship. so i figure that's not to bad. I would not build a DBGH , if you were to build the bottom sbgh stronger , say out of 3/4 " pvc, just double the price on pvc fitting's. Why did i get into this hobby, i am allready looking at building a Gen2 sbgh gh10,(found some real cheap parts) guess i'm hooked on this now.LOL Thank's again: swampdogger.

Unfortunately, Ive found those places overpriced, heh. Look thru the forum, there are lots of tips on where to shop for supplies in Canada, so you could probably get it down to like $35 Canadian or so.

Itll work great if you straighten it out and bend it right.
