Hi all
I hope someone here can help me in setting up my second tv to work with my 9242 reciever. I have an older Bell reciever currently connected to the second tv, with the sat signal coming into the second receiver. I have the main receiver set up for dual mode, with TV2 set to channel 73 under the Modulator settings. The second remote is working, in that when pointed at the 9242, it can turn TV2 on/off. I have tried to connect the cable to the ant input on TV2, but I don't have any signal. I have setup the 9242 on TV2 as Cable. Do I need to run cable from the inhome distribution connection on the 9242 to TV2 itself to get the second tv to function where I can watch PVR shows on it? Any tips would be great, maybe even a "for dummies" guide! Thanks |

your tv may be setup as AIR instead of CATV. A quick check would be to change to an air channel on 9242.

Also, when you get the cable connected at both ends, i would do a scan on the TV2, do not rely on the signal being on 73. |

I am unable to find the splitter for the cable. I was hoping to find it, so that I could connect the inhome distribution on the 9242 to the splitter, and then simply connect the back of TV2 to the cable outlet in the second room.
My dilemma is that I can't seem to find where the cable connection on the wall in the second room is connected to. As it is now, the sat signal goes right to the second receiver right from this wall connection. I have traced the cables from the sat dish. There are two that come into the house, thru the basement and then up into the living room via a cold air duct. From there one goes to a switch with one side labled "To receiver" the other side labelled "to switch input". From the receiver side of this switch, one cable goes to one input on the 9242, and the second input comes from the second cable from the basement. Thanks |

Then I would suggest looking for a pair of Diplexers and send the signal around the house that way. Pretty sure you will find some pictures in the installation thread. |
