Okay - kinda new to all the 'AV' receiver thingy - kinda a tried and true old stereo hound.
Anyway - had this Marantz SR7500 lying around since I moved about 2 years ago. Recently plugged the whole range of components into it. My question is this - I still have an older (and very expensive in its day) TV. My best and only connection to that is Svideo - from the Marantz. What seems to be the issue is that I cant get video to the TV from any Component plug ins - ie., RGB into the Marantz ie., DVD, MCE Extender etc - to get video I have to use the composite video/ s video outs on these units to the similar ins on the Marantz - - ie., since the output from the Marantz is svideo - it wont pass through any video unless also svdieo/composite or another way it doesnt seem to wanna accept the better input - is this usual behaviour?? |

Not sure if I'm reading you correctly, however, many AVRs will not "transcode" signals, therefore if the incoming signal is composite, you need to use a composite output. Same for S-video in and out.
There are some composite to S-video adapters you can purchase, if that'll help you out with the composite connections so that everything in and out will be S-video.
