Blinking blue power-on LED on PDP-4360HD media receiver

Just noticed over the past few days of the blue power-on LED on the media receiver (i.e. not on the display itself) of my 3 year old Pioneer PDP-43-4360HD plasma display is repeating the pattern of flashing 12 times, pause, then flash 12 times again, then pause.......

Only noticed this once a few days ago for the first time, the display powered up properly and powered down properly, and didn't flash after the power up or power down.

Didn't notice this yesterday, but saw it again just now, again the display powered up normally without any problems.

I coudl not find any mentions of this in the Operating Instructions manual, does anyone have any idea why or what this may be?
