Default TAC - Channel 888 in Winnipeg

Just noticed a new channel on 888 in Winnipeg called "TAC"

It appears to be that new Accessible channel - http://www.theaccessiblechannel.com/

I think it's 888 everywhere

anyways, it's another worthless channel

I don't know whether I should laugh or cry

You may regard it as a worthless channel, but it does serve a purpose and it is a must-carry channel. In other words Shaw and the other companies are required to carry it by the CRTC.

They may be useless to you... but I know people who love "Cosmo" and I myself don't mind watching the odd episode of Supermarket Sweep on Game TV. I agree on S & L ("the religious channel")

But the point I am making is, Yeah I don't enjoy some of the channels Shaw launches....and yes I Think "The Frame" is a huge waste of bandwidth... but there are people out there that DO like those channels.

Now the Accessible channel will have a purpose...and I myself have enjoyed watching some of the shows like Biography that are on channels that I don't normally pay for.

(Ps. If you want to complain about a channel...complain about Eyes On TV - Infomercials all day long. lol)

Anyways I am a bit off topic...and back to the accessible channel.

The nice thing about this is that it's a national channel that all carriers must carry, because before this, only select providers had descriptive video channels, and it will nice that everyone has access to this channel now.

Closing after some rude remarks.

For those interested, there is a Accessible channel discussion in the Canadian television forum
