Ordered mine Feb. 5 and still no receiver. Spoke with seval reps since and the same story everytime. They claim that the demand was greater than expected. Delivery time is 6-8 weeks. Yesterday their response was that it should arrive within a week.
BS. Bell knew exactly how many 6000's were out there. They should have been prepared. This is just another reason why Bell is hated. I even asked if they would consider "allowing" me to buy one from FS and then credit me. His answer was no credit.
Nothing I can do but wait.

I agree that it should be quite simple to interogate a Database and see how many 6000 model receivers are out active on accounts but we are talking about Bell here.

They do not know what equipment to allocate to a NEW customer so the chances of them getting information right on receivers active for many years is almost impossible.

If you think this has been a farce, just wait until they start the transition to MPEG4 and the replacement of the 6100 & 9200 models, that should be a real eye opener.....

Tic Toc Tic Toc, the time clock is about to run out. Feb 9 and still no show. I would call once again but I really don;t need the frustration on a Friday afternoon.

Once you sign the new receiver up wait an hour... if no channels are showing up then call the automated system up again and do a ‘synchronise’ … this will send a hit to all your received to update your channels and it should start to work within 5 minutes… I had to do this with the new 6131.

I saw the syncronize process on the website and eventuall I might have tried it but I wasn't sure it would give the same info (HIT) to the receiver.

This would of course have been a much easier process with a CSR that understands understands your request... and eventually when I talked to somebody in Toronto rather then 'off shore' it took less then 5 minutes to resolve.

I will keep the online 'syncronize' in mind for future though, thanks.

My frustration when talking to Bell lately has been the constant push to accept additional programing, and some of them were downright rude about it!

As stated in the post above all I wanted was to activate the 6131.

Got mine earlier in the week, works perfect, hooked an external up to it and was amazed at how great the PVR functionality works. The UHF kit they sent also is much more responsive than the 6000 and I can actually see more then an hour in the guide, unlike the 6000. The HD looks better over component as well. Just waiting for my HDMI switch and I'll really see what this receiver can push out.

For once I'm very happy with Bell. It's true what they say once you have a PVR you can never go back. It works so well, and is so convenient my only regret is it's drawing near the end of the tv season.

Rock on everyone!

To get the EHD working you simply plug it into the 6131/6141.

As for size of drives, Bell have a set of requirements, briefly 7200rpm, externally powered, max size of 750Gig.

If you read through this thread you will find many people using larger drives and a few using 5400rpm but 99% appear to be externally powered.

There are already a couple of lengthy threads concerning drives and their specifications for Bell receivers.

One day to go and still no receiver. Going to be an interesting time if it stops receiving HD channels come April 1. I am sure I am not alone and Bell can expect their switchboard to light up.
