I'm not sure why there are so many negative sounding posts on this topic. People are being shipped a new receiver to replace an old one,.....at no cost to them. The cutover has not taken place yet and theredore there is no urgency, so what does it matter if Bell is slow shipping them out? If they do cutover before the receivers have been shipped, then I would understand. Perhaps they will delay if they can't get units out in time.

What can I say? Sit back, relax, be patient.

Maybe that is how they are dealing with the UHF issue now?

Very interesting - means you'll have to do another receiver swap in due course when Bell starts using MPEG4 signals. Makes me think that's not going to happen for awhile.

I agree, I know of one Company still installing 6100's almost every day, so I think Bell are hoping 8PSK gives them the space they need for quite a while yet.

I agree with what you are saying but it is Bell who is causing most of it's own 'bad press'...

Each time a CSR promises a delivery date that is not met the customer's expectations and faith are shaken. This is a simple customer service and satisfaction processes, don't promise what you can not deliver. They told me it had been shipped on two occasions when it had not, they lied, clearly a poor thing to say to the customer.

I think that if they would just say that the replacement will be sent out as soon as possible and that no penalties would be levied unless a reasonable time after a confirmed delivery of the 6131 was verified (tracking and delivery).

Well, the 6100 they sent me - they claim - is because I called and said my existing 6100 was not working properly. Of course I never made that call and I don't have Dish Care anyway, so why would they send me a free replacement? I think Guprit got confused when I called about the UHF remote for my 6131.

Another hour of my life wasted on Bell and more to come. Trying to return this receiver I never ordered will be a nightmare I am sure. I called once and was hung up on.

I feel your pain, really I do! After my 6131 arrived I tried to activate it online through Self Care, when that didn't work I had to call Bell to fix the problem, it took 3 calls, the first 2 were routed 'off shore', the rude and not too helpful CSR's who did not speak english very well not only didn't fix the problem but wasted my time trying to up sell me additional packages. I waited until 9:00pm pacific time, called for the 3rd time and got an english speaking (said awesome a lot) lady that had my activation completed and me off the phone in about 5 minutes. The follow-up survey caught me today and I used all of the time at the end of the automated call and explained the above, I hope they listen?

With regards to the 'additional' 6100, can't you just put the self addressed return label and drop it in the mail (I know that isn't the issue) but calling them hasn't helped either!

I just received my 6131 with UHF extender a few days ago. Took about 10 days from when I called them. I'm surprised.

People shouldn't worry about losing service. The cut-over won't occur until all the boxes are sent out and customers are given time to swap. Extra man power has been put into place to get the equipment out sooner after you call in.

Yeah right. Just like they would not start with Nagra 3 until ALL the Smart Cards are swapped out.....lol

Bell will NOT delay the implementation of 8PSK because a handful of customer are still waiting for the replacement receivers. I wish I had your Rose colored glasses......lol

Default 6000 exchange!

My interest is somewhat different! I left Bell service in August of '08 and have three receivers, a 6000, a 5900 and a 9200. I thought I would likely have "line of sight" again for service this Spring and never sold off any of my receivers. Would you "guess" there would be any chance that with a sale of my 6000 to a current subscriber they could accomplish the "exchange"?

I assumed likely not but after reading some of the comments regarding the exchange it seems there is certainly "substantial confusion" and it just might be able to "happen"!

What does the market seem "to bear" regarding sales of these machines with "clear accounts" and the "newer" card? My 9200 and 5900 both have "newer" cards and I expect they still sell well on eBay. Comments?

Thanks,
-Dave

just resign/renew your subscription now with existing receivers, and you should still get the swap for the 6000 now, and the 5900 and 9200 when they happen, since I've read they will be no good too down the road As for resale on Ebay, I'm sure you might find some bidders who aren't as enlightened as we are here
