Not always. If you have a 6100 & 3 x 3100's you would get an SW44.
The Technicians get paid to install an SW44 they get ZERO for a pair of SW21's even though there are almost the same number of connectors and amount of work involved. Which do you think the Tech will choose.? |

Angelfish after being a customer of bells for 8 years I'm surprised your so trusting. This is not a swipe at installers as I'm sure they will set you up right but Bell will be responsible for the billing. Best of luck with the install and your new place.

No, if the customer has 1 HD receiver and 3 SD's they should be getting the SW44 as standard, that is what they would get as a new customer, so there should be no change.

At my old residence I have 2 dishes (20" oval) installed. Both dishes have similar setup in that they both have 2 sw21. I will eventually take one of them with me (for spare LNB and switches). I told the Bell CSR that I need 2 sw21's installed with the new dish and did not mention of taking the old dish with me. I can install the sish myself but it is Winter and I don't much feel like being Superman on a ladder.

The Tech should install an SW44 for you at the rear of the Dish, hooking up your 3 receivers will still leave you a spre port for future use.
You can still take the second Dish asembly with you if you choose to. Extra cost should be $100 for the 2nd & 3rd receivers. |

I'm moving next month and I'm going to get my Bell TV service moved to my new house (there isn't a dish installed there).
I just want to find out if I should be worried about Bell messing stuff up or does this kind of thing usually go smoothly. I just don't want to get any surprises or unexpected costs. Thanx for any info. K |

How many receivers do you have?
If they are Rental, I believe (don't quote me) that all will be installed, free of charge... If you own, then your 1st receiver +dish is free(if you own a 9200, 9242, 9241 have it installed as the 1st receiver) and each subsequent receiver is $50... If you can, I would take the dish and switch(es) from your old house, as it never hurts to have a spare LNB, switch in case one fails |

I only have one reciever (SD-PVR, 3200??).
I finally found the info on the Bell website and it states that a new dish and 1 reciever is free. They don't make it easy to find this info sometimes. I guess now I'll make the call to get the new dish installed at the house. They say to call 2 - 3 weeks in advance but to me that seems like it would be cutting it close. K |

How well the installation goes depends on the contractor. Most are good but I have had problems, like no shows and bad dish placement. (Watch out for trees that could block the signal when leaves emerge.) The best place to locate the dish is on the side of a solid structure. (A brick chimney or wall is good.) That way it is accessible for clearing off snow and for repairs. Roofs tend to be problematic due to poor accessibility and less secure mounting surfaces.

Ther would be a 50$ charge for the install of each additionnal receiver, EVEN IF YOU ARE RENTING If you plan to install a second receiver in the near future might as well get it done on that same call. A tech will cost you 75$ if you call him in a few weeks to install an additionnal unit while it would only cost 50$ if you do it at the same time Install the receiver next to a window or on a balcony if possible that way you can clear up the snow in the winter and make sure you have less interruption possible due to weather condition You have a 90 days warranty on that installation. If you are not satisfied of the signal or if you frequently loose signal make sure to call BellTV whithin that period. They will send a second technician FREE OF CHARGE to correct the issue
