I am trying to get my head around the new dish installs that Bell is doing.

I may be moving in the next month or two and I am wondering what I should be asking for in my install.

I currently have a 9242 running to my projector with both tuners.

I also have a 6131 hooked up in my current home.

My new home I will have the 9242 in the basement and the tech will have to run wire for that from the electrical panel as the basement isn't wired yet.

The 6131 is going to go in our new bonus room upstairs that is prewired to the electrical panel downstairs.

2 Questions:
1. Should I be making sure I get a Quad Lnb dish??
2. I might want to add another 6131 in my master bedroom in the future. Will a tech hook that up at the Electrical Panel if it is prewired so that when I do get the reciever I am good to go or is that a NO NO for him to make that hookup with no receiver present??

The Bell tech will only run the sat cables. You will need to hire an electrician or DIY the power lines from the electrical panel.

The 2 existing receivers will be installed free of charge, if you want a 3rd line I am sure that can be done at the same time and it will be chargeable to you at a rate of $50, per line, regardless of it being an existing line or not.

Having this 3rd line hooked up will also ensure that you get the DPP Quad LNBF.

You will of course also have a nice pretty 3rd line on the outside of the house.....

So If I didn't want the 3rd line on the outside of the house then I shouldn't bother with the 3rd receiver hookup request??

but I may not get the Quad LNBF as I only have 3 tuners??

You will get a DPP Twin, then behind the 9242 he will install a DPP Seperator.

From my understanding Bell TV now does free 'move' installations for ALL receivers on an account, providing at least 1 of them is HD.

I'm moving in a few weeks and just got off the phone with them after moving all accounts (phone, internet, TV). They said a $30 charge will happen for the phone which is fine. So I get the confirmation email and it looks like they are going to charge me $79.95 for the Single Satellite 4 Way Multi-switch. What the heck is all this about? I'm really kinda ticked.

Well if you need a "Single Satellite 4 Way Multi-switch", you don't have HD, or most likely Bell screwed up.......

I'm confused. I have a HD PVR receiver and a normal HD receiver.
What is the this switch and should I be charged?

No you do not require this switch, or any switch for that matter.

The most likely scenario would have the Tech use a DPP Twin LNBF only, therefore ZERO charges.

All receivers are now installed free on a move order, doesn't matter if any of them are HD or not. I forget when this went into effect, but it was somewhat recently. I'll look through my emails and see if I can find the original email.

It was effective May 16th. Also, any additional receivers installed at the same time as a move order will also be installed for free.

I will be moving to a new house soon and my current set up is as follows;
2 dishes each with the quad lnbs with 8 lines run to one location in the basement
1 - 9242, 1 - 9241, 1 - 6131, 1 - 3100
What will Bell install at my new house for free, and what will I have to pay to get 8 lines run into my utility room in the basement? Do I have to bring one of my dishes, or can I get them to install 1 dish with switches for 8 lines?

Thanks
