Excellent service from Bell on my issue. I just called and they are sending out a replacement today. Talk about quick turn around, damn!

Is there a way to get my recordings off of my current PVR and onto the new one? I don't have a lot of stuff but what I do have I haven't watched yet. The movies I can just record again but I have a few races I would like to transfer and an old concert from when we had HDNet.

Please see the following existing thread on the topic of transfer:

http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=147323

Also, it should be possible to archive to an eHDD with the 9241 and then attach the eHDD to the new 9241.

Excellent thanks. I spoke with the tech who was here and now gone so I all ready have the new receiver and he said you can just move the recordings from my now old receiver to an external drive and then just move them onto the new receiver. I may actually take the opportunity to just buy an external drive specifically for storing PVR content. I am buying an external drive for my computer next month anyways so I will probably just initially use it for the PVR content swap before using it with my computer and then later on just get another drive for the PVR.

Good to hear that you're happy with the service, and hopefully you can get everything transferred problem-free.

Nice meeting you by the way lol.

Be leary Bryston. I went to a house not too long ago where the customer had that exact same problem and swore up and down that Bell had sent them 3 receivers in the last 6 months. (The receiver wasn't the issue.)

Hi Monekyhunk,

I have had the 9241 for about 6 months now and on occassion, I get a little freezing during some recordings. It does not appen very often, but when it does it is annoying. I have yet to call Bell about it. You mention in yor last post it may not be the reciever. If it is not, then what can it be.

Also, on a side note, i was wondering if I have a bad hard drive due the the freezing, is there any tool in the menus or system that will determine if there are bad sectors causing the issue.

Thanks

The issue hasn't re-occured sense the swap and it now has performed 5 HD recordings. I have timers set to record shows each weekday morning at 4:00AM and 4:30AM and Tuesday and Thursday morning the reciever froze during that time period and I awoke to a black screen with the record light on on the receiver. It didn't freeze on Wednesday morning because I had it unplugged all night because it froze Tuesday evening while recording so I was hoping leaving it unplugged for an extra long time might help but it didn't.

I don't see how the problem could not be receiver related.

I was hung up on the freezing at 2 or 3 of 5 on the acquiring signal screen.

Default 9241. Very Low Volume

Sorry if This has been posted already but recently my 9241 sound has gone bd. i have tried hdmi and component cables but the volume is so low i need the TV on 100% to almost hear it. The movie channels are a bit louder but not sure why this is happening. Anyone experience this before?

Thanks in advance

Well I would never have expected the RG6 to make a difference as that would appear to be to be a Receiver issue.

After what you have tried all I can suggest is swapping the receiver, hopefully it is under warranty.
