Thanks for moving the post. Was going to post in the sticky thread but was not sure.

My guess is that the Bell reps are trying to lock in customers by saying there is a shortage.

Default Pvr 9241 randomly skiping- again.

So over the last few days my 9241 has been slowly starting to skip more when/while watching a show, For example I am trying to watch Ghost rider on ch 1726 (Show case) and I rew back a few as I had phone call and missed some, Yeah I've seen it before but wanted watch it again.

The Last few day I have been notice that randomly no matter if was live or pre-record show or even was just rewind a few mins back. My Pvr seems to randomly just start skipping.

It has been doing more over the last few weeks.. I am starting to wonder if the Hard drive in my 2nd 9241 is starting to go...

I know not the cable as I just had all new fully installed Rg 6 3 ghz line installed by installer. Right from box outside all the way around to back the 9241 and DPP switch..

Single strength is around 93-99%.. Currently around 95-97 on chan 1726. Btw it does same thing on SD or HD channels. A live chan will just start randomly studding or randomly jumping forward a few seconds.. The only way to stop it seem to be hitting pause or rewind.. Though if you do nothing it usually fix its self..

Everything been really good till last 3-4 days.. sighs..

I really hope this does not become the normal thing.. This is why bell needs come out with there own Hopper version soon.

anybody else experience this? My sis has reported to me simular problems..

Default Strangest problem eVER

My setup : Bell 9241, HDMI connect to Pioneer vsx 921 AVR, HDMI connected to an LG55" LED panel. Here is the issue.

When the Bell 9241 is outputting a dolby digital signal, the low frequencies lag. Let me explain. Whenever there is some sort of bass involved (perhaps around 120hz or less), JUST those sounds are delayed about a half second. If a door slams, you will hear it slam, then a low thud (the low portion of that sound) come a half second later. I only have front left/right and center channels hooked up. The AVR is set correctly. No sub, all speakers are set to large. Its very annoying, because when you hear someone speaking with a deep voice, the bass part of their voice is behind by a half second. It is the strangest thing ever. This happens if I am either watching live TV or a recording on my PVR.

As well, when I go into the Bell 9241 and change the settings to PCM only, it stops. I do however, lose the Dolby Digital and get only a stereo pair.

I have tried resetting the 9241, and the AVR. This is the strangest audio problem I have ever encountered. Anyone have any ideas?

If your Receiver has optical out. Try using that instead of
HDMI.. Have the HDMI just to the tv and Optical out from
the PVR 9241 to your Receiver..

Since my Receiver is older one, it does not have HDMI. That what I use.. I do have 5 speakers, but I do not have Sub woofer yet.. Give that a try.

Also check your setting on your Amp/Receiver.. You may need set the Bass out for : Both.. See if that helps. So output to both speakers and Sub, Even if you don't have one.
Also check speaker setting on your receiver, If set to small, It may give you delay. Try switching them to large so get full bass effect. If its not already set to that.

--- another idea to check into --

Also just idea. If you are using in exciting in home coaxial cable. If any of it is using older stuff, older Rg 6 or even small amount rg 59.. It can effect your picture and even sound quality some.. I had get proper lines installed and I now get way better pic/sound.. It's all new Rg 6 3.0 Ghz now.

Make sure your actually getting DD 5.1 sound, Movie central HD/ ShowCase HD are usually always 5.1
There has been the odd times I've been watching Discover world HD and was in Dolby digital 2.0
not 5.1... Its don't happen very often.

Same problem here since a few weeks!

When I called Bell, the technician told me that it was not an hard-drive problem. It's suppose to be a reception problem... For me, it's clearly not a reception problem! The problem happens even on clear day.

I'll call them back

yeah the thing is it does not happen every day, For a week or more it be fine, then one day it just starts acting up and start randomly skipping, No matter if on HD or SD channel.

As said I just had all new line installed from dish to back of the tv. Right now I have Space ch 1746 on and getting 99 to 100% single strength.

I agree I don't think its reception problem. I think its bug or rare glitch that Bell has yet to fully know about

I am having the same stuttering issues issues with my 9241 at first it was not happening all the time but over the last several weeks it's really happening a lot.

Called Bell they checked Signal Strength it was fine but no other troubleshooting since the receiver is under warranty they are sending another one but I think it's a software issue but I will see if the issue is still there when I get the replacement

There is no stuttering on my 2- 9242's just the 9241

We're riding out our last month of service on Bell TV. Last night we experienced random one-second 5.1 audio drop outs while watching Blue Bloods on the 9241. It got annoying so we switched to the OTA feed instead; no problems!

Default 9241 "upgrade" creates audio loss

I just got the free 9241 "upgrade" from Bell (and a 5900 for my upstairs SD TV). While I like the black unit instead of the grey, it simply isn't working in my setup.

I have a Sharp Aquos, the aforementioned PVR, an Xbox and an Onkyo receiver. This receiver doesn't have HDMI. In my previous setup, HDMI cables fed into the TV from both the 9200 and the Xbox, and I used an optical audio cable out from the TV into the receiver.

In this new setup, the 9241 doesn't seem to send an audio signal out through HDMI. The only way I can get audio is if I go optical out from the PVR direct into the receiver. I also found that the receiver would make a "switching" noise when going from the guide or menu to TV. It never did that with the 9200. That is problem #1.

Anyways, I managed to work it last night so that along with the optical from the PVR to the receiver for TV, I used standard audio cables out from the TV into the receiver for the Xbox. Not the ideal setup, but it was working. Then, for some unknown reason, that setup simply stopped working this evening when I came home from work! Now, only the optical audio will work.

Do I just have a bum unit? I'd rather not call Bell Tech Support and have their level 1 tech ask me if I have the unit plugged in...

The HDMI should include sound. Either a bad cable or a bad unit. Call Bell and complain.
