The only time mine makes any noise is when it reboots due to freezing which is not often at all. You can hear the fan and the hard drive.

Try taking off the battery cover and switching the small switch to "B". Then press the Sys Info button on the receiver. Then record on the remote several times until you see it switch to Band B.

Default New 9241

Just purchased a 9241 to add to my 9242. Is Bell going to help me set this up or do I need to stumble through it myself? I understand how the cabling should work, just the software setup I am not sure of.

Connect the receiver to a working Sat line, go to point Dish Screen, run Check Switch, then it should ask if you have finished pointing the Dish, you choose Yes, it downloads software.

This is really embarrassing. I just noticed that the antenna was loose (didn't check on it after the install guy did his "job"), so I tightened it and made sure that it was pointing straight up. Now it seems to be working quite well with the remote. I'll keep an eye on it for the next few days to see if this is a permanent fix.

Thanks to everyone for the tips, and I hope that I didn't waste your time!

No don't worry, most Technicians I follow around don't use the 7/16" wrench to tighten anything so I guess we should have suggested this sooner for you.......lol

Glad you are working though, it is often the small things in life that take the longest time to fix.

Default Available in 5.1

My Pioneer Elite DVD player tells my Pioneer Elite A/V amp what the best sound available on the DVD is, THX, DTS etc. and the amp automatically chooses that setting. Then the display on the A/V receiver switches and displays DIGITAL.

I have my Bell HD player hooked to the amp with an optical cord for the sound, but even when I'm watching a show such as Boardwalk Empire in HD and 5.1, the amp never displays DIGITAL.

Are we really getting 5.1 from Bell???

Default 9241 connection to multiple devices

Have my 9241 connected to an LG 42" via an AV receiver using Composite - works great.
Now I want to connect to my laptop via a Hauppage 950 USB tuner and have used the S-video to do this but the 9241 seems "stuck" on composite and won't send thru S-video. Have managed to get black & white picture with no sound.
Previously tried to go direct from 9241 via RGB to a VHS and it wouldn't do that.
Is there some menu setting I have to "switch off" the composite?

Thanks

If you're asking how to use this without paying, we do not discuss satellite piracy here. If you wish to activate this unit with Bell, call them or visit their website.

Thumbs down Bell TV 9241 Sound Problems

I received a 9241 from Bell to replace my 9200. It is connected to the tv using HDMI. The sound is very low, and even lower on HD channels. (The volume level on the TV when using the 9200 was always under 20, now with the 9241 we can't even hear great at 80) The 9200 had room for six component cables plus audio, but the 9241 doesn't. Does anybody know what the issue could be. I have tried using the I am very disappointed with this receiver so far. I can't hear my TV and am ready to switch providers. I have called Bell and they are no help what so ever. HELP!!!

Try rebooting the receiver. I've watched something, cranked up to 40 to hear it, then rebooted it and the volume level on the same recorded file was ear-blasting and I had to turn it down to 16. And vice-versa.

I am living away from home for several months for work. My landlord has Bell but only has a 6100 so I decided to bring my PVR with me. When I hooked it up I found he has an old LNB so I am only receiving one sat signal. I didn't think it would be too much of an issue, I would just lose the convenience of recording 2 channels at the same time. However, I have missed a few program that have not recorded. When I set a timer it puts the timer on sat 2 but I am only receiving a signal from sat 1. If my machine is shut off it will record if it's on it will try to record through sat 2 and I don't get the recording (although the record light does come on).

Is there any way to make the PVR function properly with the only the one feed or am I stuck with what I have until I get home? I think it might work better if I could make the recording on sat 1 but don't know if it's possible to do that manually.
