I have this new oblong looking window with a black background. Inside the solid black box/window are the commands/functions I am using.
Its very annoying. I am sure its something I hit by mistake but I have never seen it before. e.g "you are currently on a close button. to click this button, which closes the current window press control option space" But if I move and do another option/function that pops up inside the box. I cant righ click and delete Any help?? thanks

How do I do that? I would be glad to. Thats probably the easiest way for someone to determine the issue.

Sounds as if an assistive feature has been turned on by accident. To check, go to System Preferences > Universal Access and see if any options have been turned on.

Screen shot is command-shift-3 (all buttons simultaneously) . It should then show as "picture1" or similar on your desktop. You can then upload it here or to a photo sharing site.
Are you sure the "window" is not something like "terminal", which would show in the "dock" and you could quit by right clicking it in the dock. Active software in the dock usually has a "dot" beside it indicating it's active. Restart the computer?
