So a few questions are to be determined tomorrow in regards to channel allocation on the old transponders:
Which channels that you get today, but will not be available unless you upgrade your LNB? (i.e will Centre Ice move?)
Are any channels available tomorrow south of the 49th, that are not available today? (Bonus channels for vacationers).
None of the existing channels on Anik F1R or F2 are moving to G1. If you get them today, you will continue to get them tomorrow.
Channel numbers are staying the same for both the advanced and classic line-up though both line-ups are a total mess now.
The HD channels will have duplicate positions in both the classic and advanced line-up. The existing ones will remain on their respective positions but will also be mapped with the new channels.
NHL Centre Ice, NFL Sunday Ticket, NBA League Pass and Big Ten Network overflow games will be moved to Anik G1 in September and will share the space with the new PPV movie channels.
THe only outstanding question I have is if some of the SD locals will be on Anik F1R, F2 or G1 are a combinational of all of them. One transponder just get freed up by moving the sports PPV to G1 and there is still room on Anik F1R transponder 1.
I'll post a complete line-up this evening with channel numbers. Unfortunately I don't have access to zap2it from work so I can't post the numbers right now.
Looks good so far, would of like to see NFL Network HD, and Peach HD, My38HD, KTLAHD, maybe they will be added in the upcoming months. Has been a long time coming though...
It would have be nice if they put placeholders for NHLCI for NBC/ TSN, CBC games so it is easier to flip between "locally available" and Centre Ice.
Also the same for NFL Sunday ticket with NBC/ CBS/ CTV locals and NFL Sunday Ticket.
Keep in mind that the existing HD channels will still appear at their current locations in addition to the new ones. It might just be temporary but for now you will see 2x positions for the existing ones; example WGN HD will appear on channel 342 and 557 (Advanced Line-up)
It is very disappointing for Quebec subs to see that TV5 and ARTV are not included with the new HD channels. We can only hope that these will be part of a later addition. Bell TV has those channels available and they should also be part of Shaw Direct programming....
No Omni 1 or Omni 2 in HD, and no CBC News HD. I'm sort of surprised by this.
