I purchased my first Ebook, bought from Kobo.
The Man Who Made Us: 17.99 GST: .90 HST: 1.44 ------- TOTAL: 20.33 This does not seem right to me. Why should I have to pay GST. When we have the HST here in Ontario. |

The total amount of tax is correct. 5% GST, 8% PST for 13% HST. Looks like their system is badly programmed. This is a case where a handle on arithmetic may be helpful.

Thanks for the quick reply. I just took a quick look on my receipt. and was puzzled buy the GST.
On a minor note. A relative of mine saw John A MacDonald making a speech. My Aunt knew her well. My relative lived to 107

It's interesting that printed books and audiobooks are still exempted from the provincial tax (was PST, now provincial component of HST) but ebooks are not.
