forgot to mention, yes.. they do rent out Bluray. Presume there's only 1 BD copy per machine as I find that a lot of the time the BD copy is rented out...

The Zip kiosk at Metro Tenth Line/Innes in Orleans has been out of service for a week.

I use redbox quite often. They are in all the local Safeway stores (in the Vancouver area).

So far, they are pretty good.

Pros:

Inexpensive.

The quality is good. Unlike borrowing from the local library, which have been well-used, with scratches and smudges, and skip or outright stop halfway through a movie, the DVDs from redbox have all been pretty new and play fine.

Cons:

Don't like the line-ups.
Since it is one user at a time, it gets frustrating waiting for somebody ahead of you to navigate through the menus and try to decide what they want. Especially if you just want to return a rental and get going.

The advertised movies are frequently not there. The banners around the redbox machine advertise certain movies but it never comes. It is not just out of stock, or all rented--it is not even in the system. Why list something they don't have?

Other than those cons, redbox is an inexpensive night of entertainment.

My biggest quibbles with the Zip kiosks are:
- not all newly-released movies actually get released to the kiosks;-
- not all kiosks carry all of the movies that have been release to the kiosks.

So, not only can I not get certain movies at all, but if the Zip website says that a movie is at the kiosks, there's no guarantee that my local three kiosks will be carrying it.
