Laptop needed for Kitchen, advise please - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

We need a laptop in the kitchen nook area to act as a small homework, recipe search, internet and streaming center. Don't want to spend too much a sthere is already a standalone computer upstairs in the office

Please recommend something decent with good preocessor, RAM, HDMI and usb 3.0

Have you checked out the deals on FS? I picked up a 15" lenovo i5, HDMI, 768mb , 500 gb for $399 two months ago. The price should be even lower now.

Consider an inexpensive tablet (depending on how much dedicated typing will need to be performed) - I find there's a significant difference in terms of casual ease-of-use between even a small netbook compared to a touch-screen, keyboard-free tablet. This is especially true when sharing content between a group of people
