Started this thread so that people can report their findings rather than posting in various other threads...for the record, not getting any HD channels at this time myself....
Cannot receive HD channels. All non-HD channels work fine.
Checked all co-ax connections. Rebooted. Still no HD.
Message on most channels "Receiver has lost satellite signal"
I tried unplugging it for 5 minutes adn then turned it back on and still nothing. The only thing on the display is the green power on light.
Now I don't get channel 299 again.
I really don't know anything about this stuff. But under the installation setup I have a
T1 and T2 signal and the T2 is steady at 98 and the T1 is still red and jumping all over. I don't know how to fix it since there was never a problem before Wednesday night.
I live in the West kootenay's, BC. I contacted customer service and received a message saying they would do a call back between 3 1/2 and 5 hours. This was at noon PST. As of 1330 hours my 630 is still not working properly.
The 630 and maybe some other models are known to have issues when signals are lost, even temporarily. To fix the problem, do a reset by holding down the front panel button for 5 sec, until it restarts. Then perform a receiver refresh, either with the automated phone menu or self serve on the web site.
Hartman... It appears you are not getting a connection to Tuner 1... check the wiring and connection. The 630 will not function properly with just one working connection. It's not a signal loss from the satellite but a signal loss because of faulty wiring or possibly the LNB but most likely the connection on the back of the receiver has come loose.
I checked all the wires again and tried the receiver refresh and still nothing.
I can get some channels but no guide and no recording schedule. Currently on hold with Shaw so hopefully this can get fixed. I haven't had any problems before this.
Did everyone get all there channels back? I am still midding a bunch of them. I get the no signal message. Tried SD CS and waited 50 min for CS rep, never did get through. I was missing the mjority of the odd numbered channels. Anyone else getting this?
You bet. I have done serveral resets and refreshes. It appears as though one of the tuners in my pvr is malfunctioning. I have a great signal on one line and nothing on the other. When I reverse the lines same thing as the signal loss is always with the same tuner, so I know the problem is not my lines. Anyone else seeing this problem?
I have been having troubles too. so after reading your post I decided to see if changing my wires to see if i was having the same problem but when i did change the wires i got everything back on the T1 and now the T2 doesn't work and I can't get any even numbered channels. I my recording schedule back and the program guide though.
I phoned this afternoon and it was a 3 hrs wait. So obviously there is something going on. After the call It was working and both my reciever were working at around 90% each. A few hours later one dropped to 70 and the other is gone again. Now I can't even get a signal from the dish from that cable. what is going on! Currently on hold again with SD!
Ok... So while I was on hold..poof!!! It all comes back on and all works now. So obviously they are still fixing the problem and just are not telling us. Geez! A msg on the web site or recording on the phone system would keep most of us from calling...
As for G1, It is a multi-band satellite, as far as I know. Shaw Direct will be the exclusive customer for the Canadian beamed X-Ku bandwidth on it though, which amounts to about 16 transponders.
