This receiver looks like it was made in someone's garage ( plus the power switch is upside down).
4:2:2 ? Cheers, K

From what I heard these photos are of the prototype .... the Chinese engineers have now flipped the switch over. I don't think it does 4:2:2.

Also the Analog RCA jacks are labeled wrong... the yellow jack should be video and the red/white ones for audio.

Could someone explain what "Wi-Fi Ready", "UHF Remote Ready" and "ATSC Ready" mean?
I suppose I can make out the part about the UHF remote... hole but as for the rest? Also, I'm afraid the front panel could use a little freshen up but the specs look denent.

to me that would mean it doesn't come with a wifi interface, a uhf remote, nor an ATSC tuner. But perhaps could be added later? Would question if the SW would really work with them once the hw options were installed.
People have been burned in that regard by many otherwise exceptional receiver manufacturers in the past. The real question is what would be the use of turbo 8PSK? Since noone uses it but Dishnetwork, it's completely useless for the FTA community. Further since it doesn't come out and say it supports plain ol DVB-S2 8PSK, I doubt it really does. That said, I will refrain from being Jynxed.

Agree. Lots of unanswered questions at this point. Sort of looks like my 2500 clone receiver inside.
The Wifi Ready question would be on my mind as well. The media player may prove interesting under the right circumstances. Though without DVB S-2 or having the ability to do 4:2:2, I would likely stay with my Openbox 9's. |

We received an email from them soliciting us in becoming a dealer for this receiver. Essentially, it's a hacker box only useful for satellite piracy so we won't be carrying it. As a rule of thumb, any tuner supporting DVB-S Turbo 8PSK won't support DVB-S2 8PSK due to current technical limitations which makes this receiver of limited use for FTA. Oh and i'm pretty sure it does not support 4.2.2 as only the AzBox lineup of receivers have the chipset to support 4.2.2 at this time.
However, we are introducing several HD receiver models this summer which all support DVB-S2 8PSK and blindscan so there will be a few more options for us to choose from. These receivers are as follows: - GEOSATpro MicroHD - Traxis 6000HD - AzBox miniMe AzTrino edition And later on by this fall, the AzBox Me Android edition! Regards, Dr. Sat |
