Thanks for all the input!
After way too much consideration, I decided on the Karcher gas unit on sale now at Costco.

2 year warranty on the engine and pump, and the sale price is pretty darned good. Dang thing wouldn't fit in my car, even though I measured the door opening first.
Forgot to factor in the door handles (D'oh!) so had to call Mrs. Penguin to come and get it

I'll probably unbox and test it on the weekend, will report back.

So here's the scoop.

Karcher G 2800FH
Dead simple to assemble
Starts quick and easy hot or cold.
Pressure is definitely more than my old electric Karcher 360. Not as big a difference as I was expecting, but definitely noticable. The 0 degree nozzle will really do damage if you're not careful.

The difference in flow 2.4 gpm vs. probably 1.5 on the electric is noticable too.
It's not as loud as I thought it would be, just a tad louder than my lawnmower. I wouldn't run it at 8 in the morning, but I'm not too concerned about it. Our only "problem" neighbor was out in his yard while I was using it, and he didn't complain, though he just finished using a gas powered log splitter and a power saw

The wheels look a bit cheap, but seem to work well, and their size allows for easy moving up and down stairs.
My only real complaint is a lack of detergent tank, but the long detergent hose, and mesh basket area allow you to use a small bottle.

Overall so far, I'm impressed. It's definitely worth the money.

I recently purchased a Coleman on sale at CT, $ 100 off. Am impressed with it, my first pressure washer purchase. Does a good job, plenty of force cleaning the deck, siding, truck ..etc. Has multiple adapters (3) to change the pressure settings.

Gas would have been nice too, but price and undecided if the household water pressure would keep up with the gas powered .. particularly on high pressure settings ? Not sure if that is/was valid reasoning. Have you noticed any degradation of the gas powered pressure or engine hestitation (specifically on high settings) due to (assumming) lack of sufficient, or result of "standard" household water pressure, feeding the machine ? ie, water feed trying to keep pace with the output of the gas powered washer, perhaps on highest setting.

I bought a Karcher electric last summer. For our home it does a fine job at 2000 psi. The motor is an instant on/off style as you pull the trigger, and it's an induction design which is better than the cheaper units you find for under 200. But if 2000psi isn't enought for you then gas would be the way to go.
