Default Rogers gets into the SIP business

Rogers Communications Inc. is opening a gateway to unified communications by offering SIP trunking service to its medium and enterprise customers with PBX systems.

Hopefully they'll soon offer SIP to consumers. With this, as mentioned in the article, it makes it easy to unify your phone communications, so that your cell phone could be tied to your home phone. LTE & 4G phones are supposed to use SIP as the primary voice method and many smart phones already support it. Prior to this, Rogers business customers would require a multi-line terminal, which broke out the trunk into individual analog lines for connection to the PBX. I have set up VoIP PBXs, where adding a smart phone is almost as easy as adding a regular VoIP phone.
