From what I can find on the Skype website, this service only seems to be available for Verizon phones (?)
We've recently moved and are trying to go without a home phone, so looking to save on long distance to the U.S. |

Unfortunately there isn't a way to do it with a non-Verizon phone, as the app is loaded via a Service Book that is pushed down to their devices (it's not available as a separate app via App World or from Skype's site).
Even if you were able to find a way to do it, the Skype app Verizon has works a little different than the desktop application. You have to be connected to their mobile network, as it calls a specific phone number (similar to a calling card) to place calls; even to others using Skype. |
