My girlfriend just purchased a townhouse, where basic cable IS included with her strata fees. When we went to hook up the tv, the only jack of the 3 jacks that work was the bedroom on the upper floor. So, for a few days, we ran a long cord. She called in Monday ( a month ago now) and told them the situation. The kind gentleman on the phone offered to up sell her internet and digital box etc. She told them she would think about it, but he offered a great 6 month deal, free pvr, free hd box and the service call would be free since the cable IS included. He left his name and number at the location where he worked , so she could call him when she made up her mind. He even said she could keep the basic pvr is she cancelled after the 6 month time. She called back a few weeks ago and couldnt get a hold of him, and the lady she talked to said theres no way she can have those perks as well as she would be charged a service charge to fix the jacks that are not working. I told her to hang up and call again and try to get a hold of the guy that offered the deal. Its now been a few more weeks go by and she has called a half a dozen times and she gets the same story about getting charged extra to fix the jacks etc and no free equipment which she was promissed. If the cable is included in strata, there is now way she should have to pay a service call from moving into a unit with dead jacks. So, she's about to pull her hair out and is out of options. Can someone give some advice on how to deal with this? She also says the people she is talking with are not very polite with her, and are just trying to make her pay extra. Thanks for any advice

As for the offer given by the first agent you spoke with, it most likely had expired if none of the other folks were able to provide you with that promotion. Also, since strata provides you with basic cable, only 1 active outlet comes with that subscription. Cheers.
